Thanks to everybody who attended our fundraiser in Bentley's Bar on Friday evening. Despite some unusual misinterpretations (Dear Team Dirty Pretty Things, the 99 ice-cream is not so-called 'because 69 was taken'), you lot appear to be a brainy bunch, and competition was fierce for the Gameshow's Top Spot! We are particularly impressed by those teams that accurately associated KERS with Formula 1 Racing (more info on this available here, if you're interested? No? Aw, why not?!), and knew that Charlie Chaplin wrote the song Smile. Of course, Willie O'Dea's Moustache and The Wrong End of a Sword were easily identifiable to most, even as Marie Boylan allegedly failed to identify her own father in the crowd (much to the mirth of her co-host, Liam Quinn). I think it's safe to say that we were all gobsmacked by Elaine Barrett's incredible winning streak in the raffle department - we just hope that good luck spills over to the Lotto when next you play it Elaine!
Thanks again to our beautiful quiz attendees, to all at Bentley's Bar, and to each and every local Limerick business that generously donated a spot prize to the Wildebeest cause! We had a really great time and successfully raised some spondoolix for our upcoming production of A Different Animal.
